2016 OTEC Start-up Competition

The agenda of a start-up competition will include:

• Introduction of Startup Competition, Judges and Guests
• Keynote speech I: "Digitalisation and entrepreneurship" by Professor Erkko Autio
• Keynote speech II: "China UK Innovation Collaboration: Future Models" by Professor Yu Xiong
• Keynote speech III: "Entrepreneurship in the context of Brexit and its implications for entrepreneurs in both China and the UK" by Mr. Simon Stockley
• Panel Discussion on the "golden age" between China and the UK in the context of Brexit
• Presentations of Start-ups
• Award Ceremony
• Networking

The competition will be judged by:

• Professor Erkko Autio, Chair in Technology Venturing and Entrepreneurship, Imperial College Business School, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department
• Professor Yu Xiong, Chair of Technology and Operations Management in Newcastle Business School of Northumbria University, core member of the China UK Innovation Expert Group run by the UK department of Business, Innovation and Skills
• Mr Simon Stockley, Senior Faculty in Management Practice, Cambridge Judge Business School. Former director of the full-time MBA programme and a principal teaching fellow at IC. He has advised over 300 start-up businesses and 60 high growth ventures.
• Ms Paolo Cuneo, Campaign Director of Sirius Programme UKTI, former BT general manager.
• Mr Kevin Milne, Owner of Due Diligence Reports Ltd., Director of Post Trade at London Stock Exchange Group.
• Mr Jonathan Pfahl, Founder and Managing Director of the Rockstar Group. The UK’s largest mentoring and investment firm for entrepreneurs.
• Mr Tony Shen, Senior Lawyer of Zhong Lun Law firm (London Office)
• Dr Dmitry Sharapov, Assistant Professor in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Strategy in Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Imperial College Business School
• Dr Hongseng Peng, post-doctor from Oxford University, co-founder of China-UK Hitech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum.
